Take Adele, for example. She may seem like an overnight sensation, but she spent years honing her craft, performing at small venues, and working on her songwriting before her breakthrough. Sustainable success in the arts requires patience, resilience, and a lot of behind-the-scenes effort.

What do we mean by a parallel career? 

A parallel career refers to a secondary or supplementary occupation that individuals engage in alongside their artistic pursuits. 

This secondary career serves several purposes:

• Financial Stability: A parallel career provides a reliable source of income to support oneself financially while pursuing artistic endeavors, which may not always generate immediate or sufficient income.
• Skill Diversification: Engaging in a different line of work allows individuals to develop additional skills that can complement their artistic talents. These skills may be transferable and beneficial both within and outside the creative industry.
• Professional Fulfillment: Some individuals find fulfillment in pursuing multiple passions or interests simultaneously. A parallel career allows them to explore different aspects of their identity and talents.
• Risk Management: Having a parallel career reduces reliance solely on success in the artistic field, mitigating the financial and emotional risks associated with the uncertainties of the creative industry.
